A second generation restaurateur, King learned the nuances of cooking and managing a restaurant while working in his parents restaurants as a child. Working in the family business was a great foundation which ignited King's passion for cooking.
King attended Howard University where he received a BA in Communications. Following undergraduate school, King worked in the media for such giants as Warner Bros., NBCUniversal and Fox as a business development and marketing executive where he garnered a number of accolades including the recognition as one of the Top 40 Licensing Executive under the age of 40 by License Magazine in 1999.
Always seeking to hone his skills, King later attended Vanderbilt University, Owen School of Management where he received an MBA with a focus on Brand Management and Entrepreneurship. King served as a Brand Manager for L’Oreal in NYC, Spinmaster and Mattel before launching Postcards.
